Every journey starts with the first step !
Well everybody here is my first step !
Now you are probably wondering who is this person? Well let me introduce myself, my name is John Donaldson and I am 44 years old and I’ve spent far too long chasing money ( believe me money must be a good runner, because i can’t catch it !! )
For years I have been day dreaming about starting an online business, how cool would that be, working from home and no boss looking over your shoulder ( I’ll not include the wife in that last one !!!) just think for a minute about that, sounds too good to be true doesn’t it ?
Well other people are doing it, just look on the internet ! ( oh you are, aren’t you )
Now I know what you are thinking, ” It’s all just a scam”, Yeh a lot of them probably are, It’s all snake oil and hidden pyramid schemes, but there are a few genuine people out there, honestly.
Over the festive period I spent a lot of time (and i mean wife realy on my case amout of time) online, looking at what ever i could find about starting up an online business, and I stumbled upon a guy called Alex Jeffery’s, now this guy is passionate about teaching people, how to start up an internet business, he doesn’t call hinself a ‘ guru ‘ in fact he hates the word, but what he had to say in his free video’s made a lot of sense, now I’ll repeat that bit if you missed it”free video’s”, when have you ever seen a get rich quick site give information away for free.
Now you can check the bold type there is no links to Alex Jeffrey’s site, I am not getting payed to promote his site, in fact my on line earnings to date $0 ( the only way is up !! ), if you look on the blog page there is no affiliate links at all, not to say that there will never be, I have to pay for the overheads somehow, but if there ever is, I will select them carefully and they will only be products I use myself or are used by people I trust ( not many of them going about)
I am going to document my jouney on this blog, the highs and the lows and hopefully you will follw me through this adventure and get inspired to follow me, Yeh I am going trip over everything and fall down the holes, so you don’t have to.

Just saw your last comment on my 6degrees blog. Thanks for stopping by again. Anyway I jumped over to take a look at your new blog. I like the graphics, that picture looks a lot like a spot on the Oregon coast. Actually a number of spots on the Oregon coast look like that.
Thanks for the comment about my http://normsgreenenergy.com blog. Again you have me curious. You commented about my green energy stuff, I am wondering where you found the link to that site?
That blog is called an Automatic Traffic Hub. Where I have actually used the sales page of an affiliate product as the home page of my blog and then am using an automated article writer to post relevant articles in the blog.
The whole idea is to start creating backlinks and all that other techie stuff to get the page ranked on google and hopefully get to the first page of google.
I know I have been indexed by google but haven’t achieved a page rank yet.
Don’t know yet if this method will work, I understand it can take up to 60 days for things to bust loose.
Anyway you are correct, I am concentrating on affiliate marketing for now, and am using the ATH and some social networking as my method of attack. I have a Twitter and Facebook accounts tied to that blog. Wish me luck as I am wishing you good things to come.

I’ve been meaning to update my progress so far, after my first blog post, i kind of got
a bit down with the lack of comments, i don’t know what i was expecting,
I take it I believed the hype, i know what you are thinking, gullible or what ??
But I’ve listened to so much hype, you write a blog and the traffic will come, CRAP !!!
How can you expect people to read your blog posts when they don’t know you are there.
It’s like sitting in a small dingy in the middle of the pacific ocean waving your
t shirt above your head and expecting somebody to see you, It won’t happen !!!
So how do you get traffic !!!!
You could buy software that generates back-links from other blogs and forums and
gets you listed on various search engines, now you could buy the software or
you could find one that gives you a trial period, normally about 30 days,
this gives you enough time to see how good the software is at generating traffic,
a word of warning, yes they generate back-links and that, but it’s not to your
niche, so you may get 100′s of links, but no traffic, why ???
because how much traffic do you think you’ll get from an environmental forum
to your muscle car blog !!!
